Tenor-turned-Airline Pilot Taylor Rawley, 30, is quickly finding success on stages in the Chicago area and around the US. Frequently seen in the world of operetta, Mr. Rawley made his Gilbert and Sullivan Austin Debut as Cyril in Princess Ida during the Fall 2019 season, and as Horace Alexander de Vere in Greenbank and Ford's Savoy Opera: Mr. Jericho. In addition to the work with G&S Austin, he was regularly featured with The Lamplighter's Theatre San Francisco, notably as Lieut. the Duke of Dunstable in Patience, or Bunthorne's Bride where he was met with critical acclaim.

Mr. Rawley is an alum of the Janiec Opera Company at the Brevard Music Center, having sung the role of Sam Kaplan in Kurt Weill's Street Scene. Other engagements included Tenor II (Family) in The Seven Deadly Sins, and concert soloist in Weill on Broadway under the baton of Keith Lockhart, featuring world-renowned Weill performer (and fellow Carnegie Mellon graduate) Lisa Vroman. 

A lover of new music, Mr. Rawley was recently featured in the world premiere of With the Right Music: Song Cycle by Rosser and Sohne with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and premiered the role of The Angel in Niloufar Talebi/Aleksandra Vrebalov's Abraham in Flames at the San Francisco International Arts Festival. Additionally he performed as Mr. Rushworth in the West Coast premiere of Mansfield Park by Jonathan Dove

Mr. Rawley made his professional San Francisco debut as Gonzalve in L'Heure Espagnole with Opera Academy of California/Island City Opera. 

While attending Carnegie Mellon University for his undergraduate studies, Mr. Rawley performed the roles of Albert Herring in Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten, Jemmy Twitcher in The Beggar’s Opera, also by Britten, and The Man in the world premier cast of The Elephants, by Xiao Liang.

Mr. Rawley has studied with world-renowned soprano Patricia Craig, Prof. Thomas Harper, Prof. Daniel Teadt, Dr. Jason Lester, and Mme. Sylvie Sullé at the Conservatoire du XXème, Paris, France. He currently resides in Chicago, IL.
